Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Ganges Grand offered a blend of traditional charm and modern convenience, nestled on the edge of the old town. The location is undeniably prime, allowing easy access to Varanasi's acclaimed Ghats and temples within a short stroll. To rejuvenate from the hustle of travel, I indulged in their spa services, which provided a welcome respite. The tranquillity enveloping the spa area was particularly soothing-a perfect counterbalance to my active lifestyle as a marathon runner. Dining at the in-house restaurant was practical and added comfort, though I felt it could have benefitted from featuring local Varanasi specialties that truly represent the culture. While the facilities-like a helpful staff, 24-hour security, and a small library-covered my basic needs, I found accessibility to be somewhat challenging, particularly with luggage. Ganges Grand may not exceed the high benchmarks of luxury hotels I am used to, but the serene atmosphere and strategic location could appeal to those seeking a peaceful getaway in Varanasi.
